About Me - Peter Ryan, Jr.

Peter Ryan, Jr. on Friday, 21 December 2012. Posted in Fraternity / Sorority Life, Majors & Minors, Student Life

Hello everyone! This is my first blog post as a Brick City Ambassador. I am a second year Management Information Systems major in the E. Philip Saunders College of Business. Management Information Systems is a discipline which focuses on the management of information and communications technology elements within business organizations. For me it represents a good hybrid of IT and business courses. While at RIT I plan in minoring in International Relations and geting a Masters in Business Administration through the college's Accelerated MBA Program.  After getting an MBA I plan on either attending graduate school or working as an economic analyst.

In addition to being a Student Ambassador I work as a coordinator on the Greek Programming Board planning events that development and educate the Greek Community. I am a brother of the Sigma Chi Fraternity having pledged fall of my freshman year. I am an advocate for Greek Life and encourage non-affiliated students to look in it. Most of my best friends at school are Greek and some of my favorite memories of college thus far were made because I went Greek.

When I'm not in class, studying, or working I like to hangout with brothers and friends, and go to various campus events and social gatherings. The pools, basketball courts, gym, indoor track, racquetball courts, and multi-purpose indoor field in the Gordan Field House and Student Life Center make it easy to stay healthy and fit.

When I'm not at RIT I'm usually home in Orchard Park, NY. In the summer I spend a lot of time on Lake Erie at my family's house sailing, swimming, and lounging around on the beach. When I can I like to go camping but I haven't been able to do it as much as when I was younger.

That's it for my first post. Be sure to follow me on Twitter (@pryanjr) to get more frequent updates.
