classes, etc

(September 07 2006) Written by: Arthur Johnston in Academic Calendar, Athletics, Coursework

I know it's only Thursday but I'm already done classes for the week so I thought I could fill you all in on it. One of the nice things about college is that you can schedule it so you can have 3 day weekends. I actually know a guy who has a four day weekend, which is pretty crazy. Don't be to jealous though because I still have to get up at 4:50 AM for crew practice and then work.

So now I've had at least 4 hours of all my classes and so far they seem pretty sweet. Systems programming is a little intimidating though, the class is about programming really low level code on a operating system which is hard but interesting. The other class I'm really excited about is an woodworking class I'm taking. In the class we have to design and build a stool from scratch. It is just for fun really, but since I love to play with power tools I'm excited. I'm also a little worried since the last art class I took was in 6th grade, and I got a C-. So hopefully I will do better in this class.

Besides class my time has been split between crew practice in the morning and recruiting in the afternoon. This year my team has done a yeoman's job of trying to recruit new rowers. The other thing that has been keeping me busy is working for student government planning stuff, but more of that tomorrow. I have homework to get to.
