This Friday kicks of the start of the 2010 Freeze Fest , an on-campus winter festival to melt away the winter blues. RIT has several festivals throughout the year to keep campus entertaining and to bring the student body together for a weekend at a time. In the fall we have Brick City Homecoming, Freeze Fest in the winter and Imagine RIT in May. Check out the activities we are looking forward to this weekend:
Friday February 5th
CAB (College Activities Board) Rail Jam
CAB and the RIT Ski and Snow Board Club have constructed a jumping platform next to the tiger statue on the quarter mile to showcase the skills of out two board and one board riders.
CAB Presents KATHY GRIFFIN
CAB is an organization that brings three entertainments a
quarter to campus. Most often the board will welcome a comedian, a musical act,
and a speaker to campus during the quarter. In the past we have seen everyone
from Dane Cook, to Bill Clinton, Jimmy Falon, and Maroon 5…. And this weekend everyone’s
favorite “D-List” celebrity Kathy Griffin!
Also on Friday: Gospel Fest, Pulse Freeze House, and Acoustic Artists in Java Wally’s
Saturday February 6th
The brothers of Phi Delta Theta are gearing up for their annual Snow Bowl competition. Perfect timing for the Super Bowl this summer, Snow Bowl is a flag football competition held behind Gracies to raise awareness for ALS (Amyotropic Lateral Sclerosis).
Winter Fest will also be the official Grand Opening and Dedication of the new Campus Center!
Also on Saturday: the Outdoor 3-on-3 Hockey Tournament, Sled Relay for Life, RHA & OCASA Igloo Building Contest, Horse Drawn Carriage Rides from OUTSpoken, AEPi’s Cardboard Derby, a Chili Cook-Off, and the IFC’s bonfire on the field house lawn at night.
