Hi all. Even though we are already 1/3 of the way through the semester (yikes), here are some ways you can improve your performance in your classes and even in your everyday life.

Go to your classes: Sounds pretty rudimentary, but going to your classes is my #1 tip for success. Think about it: If you don't go to your classes, you will not understand the assignments. If you don't understand the assignments, you will not get good grades on them. If you do not get good grades, you will not pass your class. If you do not pass your classes, you will not graduate. If you do not graduate, you will not find a job. If you do not find a job, you will not be able to afford to eat. If you cannot afford to eat, you will not maintain a stable body weight. If you cannot maintain a stable body weight, you will shrivel and die. Do not let yourself shrivel and die. Go to your classes.

Talk to your professors: Make connections with your professors. If you have a nice bond with them, they will be more keen on helping you succeed. They already want to see you do well, but if they like, they'll want to help even more. Remember making fun of the teacher's pet in middle school? Yeah, you really misjudged them. They were smart. Don't be afraid to be a suck-up. Having your professors on your side is definitely not a bad thing. They might even be able to help you in the future in your other classes, or be a reference for you to use while job-hunting someday.

Network, network, network: Make friends with people in your major. Make friends with people outside of your major. Make an effort to meet and befriend people. Use these people as resources, and be resources for them as well. There will come a day where you don't understand a really complicated assignment and will wish you made those connections with your classmates. College is hard, but there is strength in numbers. Have your friends' backs, and they will have yours.

Take care of yourself: I cannot stress this one enough. Take care of your body, both physically and mentally. Go to bed early when you can, don't eat junk food at 2 am, and wash your face occasionally. Take breaks and hang out with your friends. You cannot function or be successful if you are too stressed to do work. Self-care is not selfish, and it can relieve a lot of your stress.

Don't be afraid to ask for help: Seriously, ask for help when you need it. No one is going to judge you. Why struggle when you can suck up your pride and have others help you? Whether it's schoolwork related or even just emotionally, letting other people into your life is not as bad as you think.

Here you have it, folks. Everything you ever needed to know about being successful as a college student. Just kidding, but these are some tips I like to keep in mind in my quest to being successful.
