Marine Surveys

Today we learned how to survey marine life to calculate growth rates and effectiveness of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs).  Counting fish and sea urchins wasn't too difficult, but laying down a 1m x 1m square and counting the types of vegetation within the square was a lot more difficult than it initially sounded!  After we got back, we worked on our zoning project that's due tomorrow, and then we were treated to a guest lecturer who is currently running a conch farm over in Provinciales.  I also got an opportunity to sit and watch the sunset, which as always here in the TCI, was gorgeous.  Some pictures from the sunset:
