moonlighting as a photo student
As part of my entrepreneurship and new venture creation course I created a youtube video to pitch my business concept to potential investors. In order to make the best presentation I reached out to my friends in the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences to help me record my pitch in a professional lighting. As a tour guide, I am familiar to the photo/video resources that are offered (for free) to student on campus but I did not realize the depth of the facilities until I started working on my pitch! CIAS supports the “CAGE” a resource that allows students to access cameras, flash, umbrellas, etc; 48 undergraduate Color and B&W darkrooms; 20 graduate Color and B&W darkrooms; 2 color paper processors; 30 Illustration studios; and labs with software including Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, and Flash.
For my purposes I used a studio, the provided tungsten lights and backdrop, and used my personal camera to capture the magic. Check out this vine video short of my setup: http://vine.co/v/b61b5tQ5lU5
