Move to the Armory!

I am currently on coop with MRB Group, which is an engineering, architectural, and surveying firm. The company will be moving to its new location in just two weeks and I can’t wait for the move.

MRB Group will be moving to the Culver Road Armory. The Culver Road Armory was built as a cavalry training facility in 1916. The main building of the armory is 70,000 with the grand total of 100,000 square feet. It consisted of three buildings the main building, stable and storage building. The land belonged to New York State and it had remained vacant for many years, it was going to be sold to the City of Rochester in 2008. Due to the restrictions that NYS had on how the land could be used Rochester turned down the offer. The Armory went up for auction in 2009 and it was bought for $1.45 Million.

MRB Group along with Erdman and Anthony, an engineering firm and Boylan Code, a law firm will all be moving in to the new armory. In addition to office space the armory will have a restaurant, a café, retail space, and an art gallery.

I have gone to see the armory in its construction phase a couple of times since I started my co-op and I can’t wait to see the finished building.
