New Year, New Goals

I can't believe it's already week 3 of Fall quarter! It seems like yesterday I was just starting Orientation training! TIme flies!

So with a new year, I always try to make goals for myself. And they always feel more concrete when I write them down, so what better place than here so I can keep myself accountable! Here's some goals I have for my 3rd year here at RIT:

-Learn a lot. I want to really apply myself and learn as much as I can. This is the hardest year so far in New media Design, so I feel I have already learned a lot and I'm only 3 weeks in! I can't wait to see what the rest of this year has in store for me academically. This is the year I also build my portfolio so I hope to get some awesome pieces out of this year.

-Be more active in my sorority, Alpha Sigma Alpha (ASA). This year I've taken a more leadership role in my sorority as Vice President of Programming and Ritual. I'm so excited to have more of a leadership role in this organization and get more involved. This is my first full year as a  a member of ASA and I can't wait to experience it with my sorority sisters!

-Social Media to the max! As you all can see, I work in Undergraduate Admissions here, but on top of being a tour guide, I also work on the social media for Admissions. We have tons of really cool projects that are going to be coming out this year for prespective and accepted students! While I can't spoil anything, just know that I'm so stoked to have an active role in these projects with my other social media team members and I can't wait to see them carried out this year!

-To cook real food more. What's my definition of real food, you may ask? Basically, not cereal. I absolutely love cereal and I tend to eat it a lot, which isn't always the most healthiest option. So one of my goals is to cook real food this year in my apartment. Time to stop being lazy and cook!

-To get a smart phone. Yes, yes, I know, I'm one of the few people left with a basic phone. And I'm not going to lie, it's nice. However, my major (New Media Design) often designs for the iPhone, so it's hard to design for something you don't have and can't see if it looks right on it. Smart phones are also cool, let's be real. To complete my one goal of social media-ing to the max, it would be a lot easier with a smart phone! (Hi mom! ;) )

So these are just a couple of goals I hope to accomplish this year. I'll be posting updates throughout the year on how these goals are going! What's your goals for the new school year? =)
