On-campus apartments get renovated!

Kahle Toothill on Monday, 20 August 2007. Posted in Residence Life

I've lived on campus since day one of my college career. I've lived in two dorm buildings: Gibson and Sol. I've lived two different on-campus apartment complexes: Perkins and University Commons (UC). I've been in UC for the past year and summer and I've learned to love it here. On top of already getting your own room, the apartment is fully furnished, has central air conditioning, washer, dryer, dishwasher, , 2 bathrooms, garbage disposal and grills right outside my doors! How could they possibly make these apartments better? Well, this past summer they did - to a select few UC apartment. I had to move out of my current apartment for the summer as they were doing "renovations" to the whole building. These renovations include, but are not limited to: brand new carpeting, brand new style of furniture, new paint (they even painted two of the living room walls a sage green to make it more interesting/cozy!), new lighting and more I can't think of right now.

I took some pictures of the apartment after me and one of my roommates moved in and got settled down. Unfortunately, the 42" flat screen HD-TV does not come with the apartment.

Here is your own personal tour of the newly renovated on-campus apartments:

The kitchen: There is a laundry room off to the right (washer and dryer included!) with plenty of room for shelves and extra storage.

The living room
: My favorite concepts about this room are the sage walls to offset all the other cream colored walls and the large windows.

To the right of the TV is a doorway that leads to two bedrooms and a bathroom. The exact setup is duplicated on the otherside of the apartment making for 4 bedrooms and 2 baths.

A bedroom: This is my room and I switched around my furniture many times. The beds are full sized with drawers that fit under the bed or you can stack them to make an upright dresser. A desk, nightstand and cushioned swivel/roller chair also come with the apartment in each bedroom.

I hope you enjoyed this short photo tour of the new renovations!
