Last year I wrote an awesome post about our Office of Co-op and Careers on campus (which you can find here). Back then I was a third year in the graphic design program who was on the hunt for a summer co-op. Thanks to the resources available to me, I was able to land a great position with the University of Rochester right across the street (not literally but only a 5 minute commute from campus). Not only did I get a great experience, but thanks to my professional practices I learned at RIT, I was promoted to a part-time employee for the academic year!
Now I’m in my fourth year, and it’s time to once again pull out my suit and polish my resume, but this time it’s for a full-time job! Now I’m back as a regular visitor to the Co-op and Careers Office, and the best part is they are still ready to help! Not only is the Spring Career Fair coming up in a couple weeks, but the College of Imagining Arts and Sciences will also have a networking and portfolio review day later in the semester. These are great because even when I’m getting all this help applying to companies, some of the companies are coming to me!
Being perfectly honest, with all of these fantastic opportunities available to me and the amount of help that is here for my career search, I feel perfectly comfortable and confident that I will find the best career for me!
