Hey all, I really want a entertainment system for my car that hopefully I will end up getting this weekend. So I have been doing a lot of research. I am going to use my laptop as the computer, and get a cheap screen. There are a few other things I am going to need but nothing to expensive. What is going to be really cool is the GPS I am going to be getting and using. That way I can just put where I want to go and I will end up there., very happy I am and very excited. The issue comes with wanting t do it cheaply so finding the software for cheap is going to be a issue. I am thinking of going with iGuidance, it works well with the front end I have chosen entitled Road Runner which is Open Source (Open Source==Amazing), it’s a pretty cool program. Road Runner (RR) is a great front end, that means what you see and use, that handle everything.

The problem is, that since it is so customizable it takes a while to get it working very well and doing what you want, so I am going to have to spend at least a full weekend working on customizing and setting up. The actually installation into the car shouldn’t take more than 1 day, but the preparation will take a long time, so I figure why not start now? For those who have seen the movie “The Transporter”, you know how he has a keypad to start his car. I am going to get one of those. I am totally excited for that. And it won’t just be a gimmick but something that actually works.
