One pro of living in the northeast (Rochester or otherwise) is that you are only a few hours from the Canadian boarder. This past weekend I zipped from Burlington, VT to Montreal, Québec to attend Zoo Fest comedy festival. Despite getting lost for hours (after realizing my smart phone was not going to work in a foreign country) my siblings and I eventually made it downtown and witnessed comedy from stand up comedians DeAnna Smith, Garfunkel and Oats, and John Mulaney (SNL, Comedy Central, Best Week Ever).
The weekend’s expedition sparked my interest in comedy on the RIT campus… check out what I found:
CAB – The College Activities Board strives to bring a comedian to campus every year. In my time on campus I have seen Aziz Ansari, Craig Ferguson, Jim Gaffigan, and Jimmy Fallon.
RIT Improv (RIT Improv) – most recognizable for their awesome PR ducttape ducks and dinosaurs on the Quarter Mile, RIT Improv is a club on campus that hosts improv comedy shows, online streaming shows, and weekly improv workshops.
If you have been to any comedy shows in the Rochester community please comment and share the experience!
