so little time

Amanda Lasicki on Thursday, 10 May 2007. Posted in Coursework, Majors & Minors

the end of week nine has hit me like a ton of bricks (no pun intended). it's like i was smoothly sailing along through the quarter, staying ahead on papers and homework and shooting and then suddenly BAM SUPRISE QUIZ, FINAL EXAM MONDAY, FINAL CRIT TUESDAY, PAPER DUE WEDNESDAY, DON'T FORGET TO PACK!!!!

the reaction has been felt similarly by my friends and roommates and they pull all-nighters and ask for time off from work. i came to one of the computer labs after class today and well that was about five hours ago. i'm still here. i have to print for my final and right around this time of quarter the printers get real backed up because everybody has to print.

i guess photography is one of those majors that everybody thinks is easy. "oh photo what could be so hard just aim your camera at something and click!" ha i wish!! i don't think ansel adams got anywhere by aiming some kodak disposable camera at anything. we have a lot of work to do. we have tests and labs and homework. and final projects. and photo doesn't have a right or wrong. and for the most part, photo kids can't do a lot of their work on their computers at home. even i thought digital would be easier, but then you have to worry about noise and the color balance of your prints. don't get me wrong, i am in no way calling engineering or biology easy, i'm just pointing out that here at RIT us photo majors have just as much work as anybody else does.

okay, now one of my friends is dragging me away from the computers. i guess i have been here too long.

stay tuned to my fantabulous blog for advice on how to stay sane during the summer!!
