Trucking On With Summer

Josh Kramer on Wednesday, 17 June 2009. Posted in Academic Calendar

Summer is well underway. It's at the point now where I have stuff to do (and that I have to do), but not too much, so I feel completely unmotivated.  I could be working on any of the 3 websites I need to make/finish/update, I could be learning Java (which I need to before the school year starts), or I could be exercising, which I have not hardly done since I have been home.

A picture from the annual Strolling of the Heifers
Last weekend was the Strolling of the Heifers, which I briefly wrote about in my last entry.  My family and I sold maple cotton candy on Friday night, which was a lot of fun. In just those few hours we made just as much money as we do over entire weekends usually, which made it very fast-paced and exciting.  The only upsetting part about the night was when I put my left index finger on the center of the machine. You know, the part that spins around really really quickly so the cotton candy shoots out. When I pulled the finger back I saw the glove fill with red (but it didn't break so it was completely sanitary). Luckily, there was a bicycle-riding medic right there so I got it patched up pretty well. I can still feel it more than a week later.

My girlfriend was just here for two weeks. She came for the Strolling of the Heifers and to make both of our summers slightly less boring.  It was a lot of fun having her here. It's so weird being at school and seeing her for like 5 hours a day, every day, for months, and then to go for weeks with only phone calls. That is the absolute worst part about college - the summers. I can't wait until my summer job starts so I can have stuff to do (and then I can't wait until school starts!).

The iPhone and iPod Touch 3.0 firmware came out today, and I spent a bit of the day playing with that. This Friday I'm going to go to the AT&T store and play with the new iPhone 3G S. I'm hoping to get one by the end of the summer, so cross your fingers for me. Until then...
