Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Men at Student Speak Up Day

Josh Kramer on Friday, 30 April 2010. Posted in Advising & Support, Campus Safety, Dining, Residence Life, Student Life

Today was Student Speak Up day.  Speak Up day is a day for students to tell any and all departments on campus things they like, things they don't like, and things that could be done better. All of the different offices had tables along the quarter mile with representitives. If you filled out a survey about a department, they would give yspeakupdayposter.jpgou a ticket for a food item. Hamburgers, hot dogs, cans of soda, bags of chips, cones of cotton candy, and snow cones were all 1 ticket apiece, so if you filled out 6 surveys you could get one of each.

It's always fun when there is a lot going on when you are walking between campus and Student Speak Up day today was really fun. At the Sentinel they were playing music and had 2 Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Men (Family Guy reference, anyone?). I took a video of the stuff going on by the Sentinel (though most stuff was in the Infinity Quad).

During my time there I gave suggestions to the Registrar's Office, the College of Engineering, Dining Services, Housing, and the Honors Program. It's good to know that they are receptive to feedback, and that they care what students think.

For those who hate text, here are more pictures!

The line to get burgers. It was quite long at 11:55am. Needless to say,
I didn't get one (especially when you consider I have a noon class)

Phil Amsler, SG President Elect, helps RHA grill burgers. He is much to busy to pose for
a photo. I barely got him to look up.

A nice view of the Infinity sculpture with the grilling behind it.
