Hey Girl Hey - my name is Ali Anderson and I am entering my fourth year at RIT as a Mechanical Engineering student. My first year was a trip... I came in undeclared, spent a few quarters building hammers, wearing clean suits, and battling it out with the calculus books. I finally found my passion for mechanical engineering while trying on ski boots in Burlington Vermont during spring break. During my second year I entered a new level of engineering and joined the co-op search. I found my first co-op with giving a tour in the fall, and my second at the Gordon Field House Career Fair. My third year was composed of serious sorority involvement as I entered the role of Vice President - my role is to lead the chapter and help organize our programs on campus like MUDTUG, Make the Rink Pink, Think Pink Week, and much more. So check out the blog, lately I have been all about profiling different organizations and events on campus - to make sure you all get a taste of something RIT has to offer. (Also check my twitter @RIT_Alissa) For those of you scoping out the RIT scene, I encourage you to do all the overnight programs, and come see what he students are really up to. Continue to read these blogs and get in the minds of students... because there is way more to this campus then fast computers and tech savvy teachers. For those of you already here.... I'll see you on the quarter mile :)

The biggest attraction I had towards RIT was Women in Engineering program. RIT, in comparison to other universities, treats their women engineers like royalty - with weekly activities, speakers, events, and outing trips. In addition, I loved how the Engineering curriculum set up on campus. Because I did not know what specific engineering area I wanted to go into, RIT allowed me to come in undeclared and choose my major at a later date with no penalty. I spent a quarter in the clean room making a solar cell when i dabbled in Micro Electronic Engineering - and another quarter building a hammer in materials processing, before I declared mechanical engineering.

In one word: involved. I'm addicted to meeting new people and staying active on campus, which is why my friends find me everywhere from residence life, to Greek row, to student government functions.
The Taco Bar, for sure.

Anything that comes to campus (Girl Talk, 3OH!3, OAR, Maroon 5), DMB, and ANYTHING on the radio.

I currently do not have a strong relation ship with needles... but if I ever conquered that fear... it would be a tatoo of the word "Themis", in Greek.
