Your blog is really helpful for me as it describe the thing very simply and easy to understand for a new person in the market.
So this is my first blog
,
my name is Danielle this is my first year at RIT. I am majoring in Chemical
engineering. So far I am enjoying RIT a lot. I love the campus and as it gets nicer and nicer out, I am enjoying it even more. Right now I am living in the
dorms. I really don’t mind them that much; I think it’s a good way to get to
know people. I also have been lucky enough to live in special interest housing.
What that really means is that I live on a floor with people that share the
same interests that I do, which is really helpful.
Last year as I senior I was applying to many different colleges. And one of the things I did, was go visit many of them and participate in there women in engineering programs. Many colleges that offer engineering have these programs, and also if you’re not interested in engineering some colleges offer different programs that help you get to know their school. RIT’s program called, WE@RIT, was one of the first programs I participated in durring my 5 month search. So my parents and I drove out to Rochester. I spent the night at RIT and participated in some activities to get to know the campus. We were paired up with a leader and got to spend the night in their dorm and experience what it was like to live on campus. My leaders name was Danny, she was nice, friendly and easy to talk to. She lived on Engineering House, which is one of the special interest houses. I had a great time, we walked around the school, went to Ben and Jerry’s, and I had the chance to ask a lot of questions about college life. I think that trip was my deciding factor in choosing RIT, and on where I wanted to live.
I know that this is around the time that a lot of people are looking into colleges. I think that applying to colleges and picking out the right one was very stressful for me and there were some things that I might have done differently. So I am going to dedicate my next few blogs to topics about how I got threw it all and maybe some tips that might make it easier.
