A New Phone

Josh Kramer on Saturday, 05 December 2009.

I am horrible with cell phones. I have put 2 (or 3, I can't remember) through the washing machine, cracked one screen (after it went through the washing machine), and snapped 2 screens clean off within the past 3 or 4 years. A little more than a year ago I found a phone on the side of the road with no battery (I call it a "Tony Stark" phone). I got a charger and a battery off of eBay and it worked great until this past summer, when it started to freeze. A friend gave me her old phone, a first generation Chocolate. It worked great, but after 3 minutes of talking on a full charge the battery died, which doesn't make for a very good phone. When I was at home over break the phone died and then I misplaced it. I came back to school with no phone.

My family has just renewed our phone contract, which means discounted phones. I sprung for the new Motorola Droid. I always have kept good care of my iPod Touch, so I figure a smartphone will be the same. On campus I will have RIT's awesome wireless network to use, but off campus I will be able to use the internet anywhere! It came to my dad's house yesterday, and he shipped it here. Hopefully it arrives Tuesday. I'm really excited, and will definitely be blogging about how awesome it is.

Does anyone have one yet? Do you like it?
