Hi guys! This is my first blog ever so let me start by
introducing myself. My name is Blenda Luong and I am a 2nd year in
interior design but actually this is my third year at RIT. Sooo let me start at
the beginning. I’m from a suburb in Rochester known as Pittsford, I’ve lived
here my whole life and love it. Although I love Rochester I really didn’t want
to go to a school too close to home..but being the homebody I am I decided to
go to RIT. In all seriousness RIT had the perfect program for me. I came into
this school in the Career Exploration Program which allowed me to take many
different classes in many different fields so I can find the program that’s right
for me. I took classes from business to psychology to general art classes and although
I liked business and psychology I couldn’t see myself doing it for the rest of
my life and knew that art and design was something I had a passion for. So I
prepared my portfolio, had my interview with the head of the interior design
department, and viola I’m in the perfect major for me. RIT really made it a
smooth transition and easy for me to transfer my credits. If I were at any
other college I wouldn’t have had this great opportunity and probably be stuck
in business management or something boring like that (no offense to all those
business majors, it just wasn’t for me! J)
All in all I’m at the perfect place and I’m happy with my decision that I made.
So if you have any questions at all about the Exploration Program or
transferring departments or majors, Ask Me! I’ve been through it all.
