This past weekend 3 groups of RIT Admission's Counselors + Students set off for various Accepted Student receptions in Boston, NYC and DC. I was part of the group that went to Boston (well, technically Natick, MA). It was about a 6.5 hour drive from Rochester which gave us plenty of time for exploring Natick.
The hotel itself was super funky on the inside. There was a lava lamp wall in the entrance, tables made out of drums, beaded curtains, hairdressing chairs, a motorcycle in the hallway as well as a telephone booth. And in true RIT spirit, all of the carpeting was orange and brown.. we joked that we had that put in special for the reception :)
Sunday morning we got all set up and ready for the reception. There were almost 90 of you registered to come and almost everyone showed up! Quite the large crowd. After the normal admissions presentation there was a student panel as well as a brief alumni panel followed by a Q&A session.
Hopefully everyone got their questions answered this weekend! If not, feel free to comment, tweet, facebook or send carrier pigeons our way.
For those of you who might have missed these receptions, don't worry! We have more + they're on campus. Friday March 30th and Friday April 13th are two Accepted Student Open Houses
at RIT. If you've been accepted and haven't had a chance to visit campus yet, this is a great opportunity to do so. There will be an admissions presentation in the morning, an opportunity to meet with a financial aid advisor to discuss your financial aid package, meetings with your academic department and campus tours!
And if you can't make it to that, we always have general campus tours
and information sessions
on a Monday-Friday basis.
