The first weekend in October will be one of the biggest weekends each year at RIT. BRICK CITY HOMECOMING.
The other big weekend comes in the spring, Spring Fest. Both are great weekends for alumni to come back, check out the campus and reconnect with friends. This will be my first year attending as an alumna, so I’ve been reading up to see exactly what that entails. Here are the things I found…
No more cheap tickets L Students have a great advantage of getting super cheap tickets to the comedian, distinguished speaker and concert. I guess since I have a real job now I can probably swing the extra fifteen bucks. This year Jimmy Fallon and Bill Nye the Science guy are coming! Get your tickets fast!
FREE LUNCH. The Wednesday before brick city starts alumni relations is treating us to lunch. Its their way of saying thanks to the alumni who make it back to campus frequently. I’ll be sure to take advantage of that on my lunch break.
A BLACK TIE EVENT, the Alumni Ball. I’m not sure in quiet ready for this one yet. Friday night of Brick City the President holds a ball with a three course dinner. Maybe in a few years I’ll be ready to by a fancy gown and din with the President.
The alumni FEST is more my style… its starts at 3 on Saturday and is 4 hours of music and food. Some bands are even alum of RIT. I’ll be sure to check this one out.
Class Reunions. Every year they celebrate several classes’ reunions. Since I graduated in May, not quite my time yet J The first one comes two years after you graduate.
To finish it off there is an alumni brunch on Sunday to say farewell to all your fellow alum. FOOD FOOD FOOD.
I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures and let you know how it went.
