Well, all of my clothing is packed up in boxes which can only mean one thing, it's time to head back to school! (Technically it could also mean that I never took it out from last year...)
This year I'll be moving into a University Commons apartment with one of my fellow ambassadors and two other girls. We've been doing the traditional emailing back and forth trying to figure out who has spoons, trash cans, etc. Unlike last year I'll finally have my own room (UC apartments have 4 bedrooms) and I am quite excited about this.
Monday morning I'm planning on waking up bright and early (try 5:30 am) and heading off on a 6.5 hour drive to Rochester. I'm hoping to make it up early enough to be able to move everything into the apartment that afternoon-- after an entire summer of traveling through multiple states every 2 to 3 weeks I'm more than ready to settle down for a bit.
Classes don't technically start until September 6th but I wanted to move up a week early because it will give me a chance to get organized, maybe spend some time at work and catch up with some friends that I haven't seen for the whole summer. Most of the upperclassmen on campus are moving back this weekend or early next week and freshman are going to be moving in next Wednesday.
A lot of people from around home are headed off on their first year of college and it's making me think back to the days of labeling everything I own with my name and dorm room number (wait... that was only 2 years ago!) I can't believe how quickly it's gone, on some of the tours I gave over the summer I had to think twice about my year level.
To all of the new freshman coming in, good luck! Enjoy your freshman year while you can, the time will pass by before you know it!
