This weekend is Brick City Homecoming. I will be attending a weekend full of events as well as spending the remaining time with my family. The events occuring this weekend include a Major Concert featuring Rihanna, the SG Horton Distinguished Speaker Series featuring Steve Wozniak, and a comedic performance featuring Howie Mandel.
The Rihanna concert is going to be huge for RIT. Rihanna is one of the most popular performers right now and within the past couple months she completed a Canadian tour as well as performed and received two awards at the MTV Video Music Awards. Rihanna will be performing Friday night and I am very excited to be going.
For those of you who don't know who Steve Wozniak is, he co-founded Apple Computers along with Steve Jobs. He will be speaking on Saturday afternoon about his career and his new autobiography. Before he speaks though, there is a Student Government round table discussion. He will be answering questions from the members of Student Government and a few people from other organizations. I don't know all that much about Steve Wozniak, but I am very excited to be going to the round table discussion. It will pretty much be the closest to a celebrity that I have ever been.
Howie Mandel will be performing on Saturday night. Howie Mandel is currently the host of Deal or No Deal. He is also known for being the creator of Bobby's World and the voice of the title character. I don't currently have tickets to the performance, but if my family wants to go to the show, I will most likely end up there.
These events will take up a good portion of my weekend, but the remaining time I have I will be spending with my family. This is the first time I will be seeing them since the middle of August when I left for school. It will be exciting to see them and spend time with them.
I have so much I need to do before the weekend begins, so I need to end this blog short. I will try to update whenever I have a chance.
