Your blog is really helpful for me as it describe the thing very simply and easy to understand for a new person in the market.
This past weekend, I road tripped back to RIT to work at the annual July session of College and Careers. College and Careers is a program for college-bound seniors where students can participate in a college experience, and get to know the RIT campus as well as take different academic sessions to explore their programs of interest. I remember attending the College and Careers program back when I was a senior in high school. It was one of the many reasons why I chose to enroll at RIT. But this year, I got to experience the other side of the program, and had the opportunity to work it.
When I was in high school, I was unsure of what I wanted to do after high school graduation. But the summer before my senior year, I began my college search, which brought me to the RIT campus for College and Careers. I remember first getting on the RIT campus, and I just wanted to learn more. All of the Student Ambassadors, Counselors, and professors that helped to run the program were all extremely helpful. And that hasn’t changed since I decided to attend RIT.
When I finally arrived on the RIT campus, I knew I wanted to help perspective students with their college decisions. Then when I got hired at the admissions office, I knew I would be able to help those students. I still remember what it was like visiting campuses, meeting with departments, and finally coming to a decision. Even if students decide RIT is not the correct fit for them, I want to know I was still able to help them when they were making their final decision, and I want to know I let the students knowhow my experience at RIT has been life changing. I could never imagine myself at any other college or university.
