Colors on Campus

It is finally Springtime on campus and student have crawled out of the tunnels and have begun to retake the quarter mile and have been celebrating the warm weather all over campus.  With the dawn of a new season, students have a reawakened inspiration to do philanthropy and community service work through out campus.:

During week 5 Alpha Xi Delta covered the campus in blue & gold and handed out lollipops on the quarter mile to promote their philanthropy for Autism Speaks.

Week 6 was home to “Think Pink Week” in which Zeta Tau Alpha painted the campus pink; handing out ribbons and selling t-shirts on the quarter mile to raise awareness for their philanthropy of Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. The sisters ended closed the week with a picnic and “kick out cancer” soccer tournament on the Greek Lawn on Friday afternoon, raising over $3000 towards their cause.

During that time, the quarter mile was also shared with the Triangle Fraternity and Alpha Sigma Alpha who promoted their “Bed-Push” event to raise awareness for the ADA (American Diabetes Association). The houses pushed a bed 23 miles from the RIT campus to Geneseo to close the week.

This week, the brothers of Phi Kappa Tau are hosting a battle of the bands in the breezeway to raise money for Hole in the Wall Gang Camps; and the Phi Delta Theta brothers are hosting Pitch-A-Tent Friday night on the Greek Lawn for their philanthropy for the ALS Foundation.

So fun times on campus ☺ I’m loving it!
More from the QM later.
