Craig Ferguson Comes to RIT

(October 22 2010) Written by: Jacob Sachs

Last weekend as part of Brick City Homecoming Weekend, comedian Craig Ferguson performed at the Gordon Field House here at RIT. Ferguson is best known as the host of the Late Late Show on CBS.

I had the opportunity to photograph the event, put on by CAB, the College Activities Board. Even though I am not a photo student here, one of my passions in life is photography, and what better of an opportunity than such a big name like Craig Ferguson to photograph.

The opening act, Randy Kagan, a writer on Craig's show, was quite entertaining as well, warming up the audience with his jokes, many pertaining to RIT, whether it be the amount of guys to girls on the campus, or other things he has heard about, such as a popular sport here being Quidditch.

When Craig himself came on, it was a little shocking as he was joined by a bit of company, a flute player in just a little clothing, and a saxophone player. His act was as crazy as you could expect, keeping the crowd on the edge of their seats waiting to see what he would do next (Craig likes to dance around a bit).

Overall, it was a great kickoff event for Brick City Weekend with many students and families in attendance and the rest of the weekend was fun-filled as well.

My flute was that one that was used during the show!
