The application process can be a stressful time for anyone, and then there are those of us who want to add more pressure and apply early to college. What were we thinking!? I am one of those star students that fell in love with RIT where I knew it was the place I wanted to be, so I decided to apply early decision here. To all those who are thinking of applying ED or who have already started, it’s really not as stressful or more pressure-filled than regular decision.

When I applied early decision to RIT, I was scared about getting everything in on time. The great thing was, the application was the exact same as regular decision, it was just due earlier. So I rolled up my sleeves, and got to work. If you manage your time on the application and plan out a calendar, the process will flow much smoother for you. Involve your high school counsolors and letter writers as early as you can so they know to send your materials in on time. I went to an Open House before the deadline to do an interview, as well as had my portfolio reviewed in person, and hand in my application, that way I knew everything was in and was going to be on time and relieved my stress.

So take a deep breath, and start filling out your application for early decision today!
