Our department yesterday had an Undergraduate Experience Day set up for all the interns in Rhode Island. It consisted of a tour of the RI crime lab, a 3D molecular modeling presentation, a patient simulator presentation(which is where there are mannequins of a baby and a human and you "pump" multiple drugs into their system through a computer screen and you can see what the drugs do to their vital signs and heartbeat) and also a graduate school presentation. Then around noon all the interns, our mentors and program directors went to a nearby park and had a cookout and played some beach vollyball. It was a lot of fun and our team ended up on top after 3 matches!
It was nice to take a break from all the research, but now it's back to reality. I have a poster presentation on August 10th so I'm busy getting the rest of my data and putting together this poster.
It's going to be hot and humid here this weekend and since there is no AC in the dorms me and my friends are already planning our weekend adventures to some air conditioned places. lol Tonight we're going to the Olive Garden for dinner and then Saturday we're going to take the ferry over to Block Island again and get in some more beach time. I took off Monday afternoon to go to the beach since it was a gorgeous day. I get to the beach about 2-3 times a week. It's ok to be jealous =P
