A week ago today, I started orientation for the Fast-Track MBA (Masters of Business Administration)
program here at RIT. We started at 7:30AM on Memorial Day. The objective of this program is to earn an MBA in 9 months, obviously by enduring an intense course load. I am taking 24 graduate credits this summer, hence the "Fast-Track" name. Yes, it's a little intense, but this will knock off all my core business classes and an extra year of tuition. That's how I see it. Oh, and they either give you a laptop (since it's required) or they pay for a spring break trip to Prague - I took the trip.
Here's how my summer is laid out: I take a different class every 2 weeks. I go to class from 8:00AM - 12:30PM every MTRF with Wednesday off as a (greatly needed) study day. The classes I take will be as follows.
1. May 29-June 8, 2007 Accounting for Decision Makers
2. June 11-June 22 Organizational Behavior and Leadership
3. June 25-July 6, 2007 Economics for Managers
4. July 16-July 27 Marketing Concepts
5. July 30-August 10, 2007 Statistical Analysis for Decision Making
6. August 13- August 24, 2007 Financial Analysis for Managers
I just took my Accounting midterm this morning and our final is this Friday (in 4 days!) We are hoping to cover 24 chapters in the book by class end on June 8th. We'll see how that goes. In the meantime, I am in the middle of moving into a different apartment and there have been some miscommunications, which is so frustrating. So basically I hope everything works out for the best.
On a side-note, one of my best friends from home, Kristin, came to visit me this weekend! It was so good to see her and catch up. She majored in meteorology at PSU so she is taking the summer off to study for a broadcasing certification test and to tour stations. We went to the East End fest on Saturday in downtown Rochester and it was a blast! I'll post a picture as soon as she sends me it.
