Happy Holidays!

(December 18 2008) Written by: Erin Hazeltine in Student Life

(This post was started on Monday and is ending on Thursday!)
This week all of my teachers trying to be nice decided that they would make all of our tests/projects is due this week, so that we didn’t have to do them over break. Which you would think is a pretty nice gesture. However when your taking 20 credit hours (6 classes) classes and you have 6 tests and projects it’s not very cool, actually I had 8; 2 in finance and 2 in psychology!
So I have been non-stop studying and working.
But here I am done with classes for the week, for the year… that’s crazy to say.

Last week two of my friends, Tyler and Bill, went out and bought me/cut down a Christmas tree for me!
They were flabbergasted by the fact that I hadn't really celebrated Christmas recently, I have just in a non-traditional way...so they “surprised” me with a tree on my balcony! My roommate and I decided to take the tree off of our balcony and bring the smell of pine into our apartment! The boys and I went out to buy decorations for the tree! We went to Wal-Mart (I’m a little embarrassed to admit that) to buy a tree stand and they didn't have one... Wal-Mart of all places didn’t have a stand! So we went to Christmas tree shop and bought the glass balls and tinsel! (I was a little nervous that Tyler would get too excited about the “nick-knacks” that he could potential use to blow things up or do crazy things that he does with them! I learned that tinsel makes a mess but it's so sparkly! We left Christmas tree shop with me VERY excited about decorating my own tree, in my room, at my apartment, in college!!

Yesterday (Sunday) my roommates and I went legit Christmas shopping, something I have honestly never done before! I only would buy one present for my secret Santa... so the whole experience was something new; I was now one of those people at the mall trying to fulfill everyone’s Christmas wish! It was INTENSE! I think I managed to accomplish it!

We had Christmas last night, (Wednesday) and it was AMAZING! There were eight of us, my 4 roommates and then our other friends. We didn’t eat till like 9 and didn’t have “Christmas” till like 10:30, which made it for an even later night, but it was all worth it!
We shared our gifts some appropriate and some not so! (Typical arrangement for the company!) And there was enough snow on the ground to consider it a “white Christmas” which I doubt I will have on the road to South Carolina where I will be Christmas afternoon.

After a long week I am going to crawl into my bed and take a nice nap before I head out to the gym or start packing for the holidays!

MERRY CHRISTMAS
, HAPPY HANAKKAH, HAPPY KWANZA, HAPPY NEW YEAR… MERRY/HAPPY WHATEVER YOU CELEBRATE!
