Here’s the Scoop on Early Decision Financial Aid Awards
We’re on track! Early Decision Financial Aid awards will go out mid-January. You will receive an Early Decision Financial Aid award estimate within the next couple of weeks if you have been accepted to RIT, and; if you have submitted EITHER:
- an RIT Early Decision Financial Aid Application https://www.rit.edu/emcs/financialaid/form-early-ED1100.php OR,
- a 2010-2011 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) www.fafsa.gov
Now that that we are in the month of January, the on-line FAFSA is available to complete. So, I recommend that you complete the FAFSA if you want to apply for an Early Decision Financial Aid award. The FAFSA is required to confirm and to disburse any federal or RIT-sponsored financial aid. You can use estimated income to complete the FAFSA. However, once your taxes are completed, you should correct your FAFSA using actual income information.
If you have completed either the Early Decision Financial Aid Application OR the FAFSA, you do not have to submit anything else to be considered for an Early Decision Financial Aid Award. Congratulations to those of you who have been accepted to RIT!
