I love the fafsa, i don't understand why more people don't use it financial aid. maybe the working is too complicated for people for...
We’re on track! Early Decision Financial Aid awards will go out mid-January. You will receive an Early Decision Financial Aid award estimate within the next couple of weeks if you have been accepted to RIT, and; if you have submitted EITHER:
Now that that we are in the month of January, the on-line FAFSA is available to complete. So, I recommend that you complete the FAFSA if you want to apply for an Early Decision Financial Aid award. The FAFSA is required to confirm and to disburse any federal or RIT-sponsored financial aid. You can use estimated income to complete the FAFSA. However, once your taxes are completed, you should correct your FAFSA using actual income information.
If you have completed either the Early Decision Financial Aid Application OR the FAFSA, you do not have to submit anything else to be considered for an Early Decision Financial Aid Award. Congratulations to those of you who have been accepted to RIT! Please feel free to contact us with any questions regarding your Early Decision Financial Aid Award (

We provide an Early Decision Financial Aid Award before the FAFSA is available, in most cases. We use the Early Decision Financial Aid Application to collect the necessary information. This enables us to provide estimated financial aid to families who are applying early decision. Once the FAFSA is available, we'll use the FAFSA to estimate a financial aid award. The FAFSA is required to receive any federal or need-based RIT financial aid. If your Early Decision Financial Aid Award included Federal or RIT need-based aid, you'll have to complete the 2011-2012 FAFSA. I can understand your confusion here. Let me know if you have any additional questions. And, congratulations on your acceptance to RIT!
