I'll Take Some Chai with that Homework

(February 15 2010) Written by: Emily Okey in Coursework

It's week ten... motivation levels are at a record low and homework demands are at a record high.

So what do you do?

Go to Spot Coffee in downtown Rochester, of course! Spot Coffee is one of two really well known coffee shops downtown (both are about 15-20 minutes away from campus depending on how many red lights you hit). It's a super awesome atmosphere with comfy couches, booths, tables and my personal favorite, bar stools over looking the entire place! My roommate, a friend and I parked ourselves upstairs and sat down to work. It's really the ideal place to work, especially because it was Friday night, because you feel like you're hanging out but you're really getting your homework done!

The atmosphere is slightly distracting especially because there was an open mic poetry event going on right behind us but it was nice to not be doing homework in my apartment as usual. Aside from all of the picture taking, deciding what to eat for dinner, and talking to the people around us, I was actually able to get a lot of work done! I have a paper due Thursday that thankfully is almost complete. I gave a presentation this morning for my Deaf literature class and I just finished up my photography project so things are looking pretty good.

Only two more weeks until spring break!

Side Topic: RIT hockey came out of the past weekend undefeated against Army to give them a total of 37 points in the AHA! Which means that they are currently (and most likely will remain) first. Go Tigers! They're playing at home this weekend against Air Force, if you're going to be in the area definitely get tickets early and come to the game it's going to be great. Saturday night, I believe, is the white out game which means they hand out white shirts at the door and try to turn the entire rink white!
