Illustration...@ RIT???
"So where do you go to school?"
"I go to RIT"
"Ooooooh that's awesome, what are you majoring in?"
"Illustration."
".....oh.....that's....interesting...."
The dialogue above is what happens whenever I talk to someone from home or with a family member. It's like they're impressed for a second that I go to RIT, but then confused that I'm not majoring in Engineering or Science. RIT is well known for our Engineering program, but we also have a strong Art program too!
In my profile, I mentioned that I started off as a Fine Arts Major, but then switched to Illustration between my second and third year. I was a little scared because I didn't know what to expect, but the classes I took ended up to be a lot of fun. You know you fit into a major when you get excited about your projects and find fun in your classes.
The professors are awesome too! They really know their stuff. A lot of them show what they have done in their careers and it's really amazing. You can't help but be inspired. You guys probably have seen some of their work...If you've ever waited in a doctor's office when you were little and picked up a Highlights magazine, you've probably seen some of my professor's work. Yeah...crazy.
But enough talk...here are a few examples of the fun projects you get to do! I know I had fun doing them!

i m planning to attend RIT as an excange student on y 3rd or 4th year,
any comments? would it worth to just go for a year? im planning on illustration btw ^:)

I'm a freshman currently in SOFA, and so far the first semester has shown that it's really not for me...however, I've been looking into the illustration program and I think I want to transfer. I was just wondering what it's like and what kind of projects you work on?

As for projects, it's really about how much work you put into them. I know one quarter I had to take 4 illustration classes which was a nightmare because I couldn't give 100% on every single project. But I managed to get through it. I found most of the projects to be a lot of fun.
