Twice a year, in the fall and spring, RIT hosts two enormous career fairs. Hundreds of companies fill the Gordon Field House and students have a great opportunity to network, speaking with representatives from all over the country. While these career fairs are a great resource for the majority of RIT students, there are some of us (think: art and design) that get left out. Thankfully, the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences (CIAS) hosts their very own career fair in the spring, called Industry Day. This career fair is specifically for students looking to go into the art and design fields.
Industry Day is next Thursday, April 8th (also the day of the big game-- Go Tigers!) and I'm getting prepared now by putting together my portfolio, both an online and printed version. There are going to be representatives from some of the most impressive design firms and advertising agencies here on Thursday and I want to make sure I bring my A-game! It's a really great opportunity for CIAS students to get exposure, network, and maybe even job offers!
Check back next weekend, I'll write about my experience at Industry Day and hopefully have some tips for next years' crowd!
