So it is now at the end of week 9.... this means one thing for me: Intramural games are done!!! I'm rather sad about this. I have been playing sports for 6 of the 7 days of the week this quarter! Sundays were soccer games, Mondays were off, Tuesdays were Volleyball games, Wednesdays were dodge ball games, Thursdays were Volleyball practices, Fridays were just for recreational dodge ball, and Saturdays were for Volleyball practices. I was extremely busy this quarter with all of these sports. I was on 3 teams, and I captained all of them. Here's how we did:
RAMrod (Dodge ball): 3-4
VBasic (Volleyball): 4-3
Hooligans (Soccer): 1-4
Overall, that is not bad for
my teams. My teams are members of the Society of Software Engineers,
and we are traditionally nonathletic individuals.... On a side note,
Over.NET, SSE's other volleyball team went undefeated! I am really
going to miss this sports. Luckily, I will still be playing
volleyball on Thursdays, and dodge ball on Fridays, but I guess it's
not going to be the same without that competition. I guess that this
gives me a lot more time to be focusing on all of the projects and
exams that I have soon...
For those of you that are
not overly familiar with RIT's Intramural system, it's pretty easy to
understand. At the start of each quarter, you can register a team
for a certain sport (or more than one if you are like me). All you
need to do in order to register is to find some friends to play with,
go onto the intramural website and find the registration link. But
you need to make sure that you register shortly after the link opens!
RIT intramural sports are really popular among the students. To
check out all the intramural sports that RIT has go to
So next quarter, SSE is having 2 volleyball teams, a dodge ball team, an Ultimate Frisbee team, and maybe a basketball team. Unfortunately I will be on co-op in Buffalo, so I will not be able to make the games. However, I may need to come back and visit a couple times, just to play....
