I'm back at RIT! It's so nice being back on campus, where there are things to do and people to see. It's already been a week, and I'm back at home. I really missed it. I have my room all set up, except the couch that Target keeps not stocking
I got here early this week for RA training. It's been so tiring. Every morning it starts at 9, and we usually are up until 2am, making door decs or putting together bulletin boards. This morning, for move-in, I got up at 6:20 to help. It has been a busy day. Once orientation is over, everyone is moved in, and my schedule is solidified I think I will feel much less stressed. This whole week has been so tiring that I actually can't wait for school to start.
On Tuesday I am taking a CS placement exam. The language is Java, but I think I probably know half of what I should. I'm not expecting to do as well as I would like, but as long as I can skip the first class of the sequence I will be happy. I hope that all freshmen who moved in today and see this are nice and settled into their rooms, like their roommates, and aren't feeling too homesick. The Week of Welcome really helps get adjusted to being here. I can't wait to go to the hypnotist tonight. I went last year, and it was the most I have ever laughed in my life. If anyone sees this before tonight, go. Definitely go. One guy on the RA staff still is called "Princess" by his friends due to what happened last year at orientation.
Not to be another person to tell you to do what you are told, but you definitely should go to all Week of Welcome events. They are a lot of fun with an open mind, and a lot of the events are really cool.
Have a great Week of Welcome, and a great quarter!
