Your blog is really helpful for me as it describe the thing very simply and easy to understand for a new person in the market.
Kids, don't try this at home.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the store, it's a little slice of heaven for any outdoorsy person. We were fortunate to have one in the Marketplace Mall , about a 2-minute drive from the RIT campus. We are even more fortunate that they have built a BIGGER and BETTER EMS in Pittsford, a smaller town on the outskirts of Rochester. Ok, so it may take a little longer to get there but the drive is so worth it - Pittsford is such a cute town with trendy shops and restaurants.
Typically, when a store (re)opens there is a "grand opening sale" or some other type of advertising gimmick associated with the ordeal. EMS decided to out-do the normal grand opening sale - and they did it up big time.
Basically, they took up a huge part of the parking lot in the Pittsford Plaza (Barnes and Noble, Bath and Body Works, Applebees, Cheesecake factory, etc are here). Then, black&blue steakhouse (very trendy place!) catered the up-scale BBQ. The only thing you needed to get the free food was a carabineer - which you picked up inside the EMS store. There was a really
good band playing outside as well as a trick biker (sorry don't know the official name for this type of riding) out there as well with wooden boxes doing cRaZy tricks. Also, he was "hopping" on his bike back and forth over this volunteer from the audience! I took some pictures, naturally:
