This past weekend, the
Wegman's LPGA was held about 5 miles from campus at a place called
Locust Hill Country Club . My boyfriend and I were driving back from
Lollypop Farm (I really want a kitten) and we saw a guy selling tickets. I know, I know - never buy scalped tickets, right? WRONG! He gave us two Hall-of-Fame VIP passes for Saturday and Sunday for only $80. I'm not a big golf fan myself, but Nic is so I decided to give in and cough up the money to go.
Can I just say that I had a BLAST!!!!! Especially on Sunday when it is the last round of play and all the golfers are brining their A-game. I got to see a lot of great and emerging new lady players.
Lorena Ochoa ended up winning! I was probably 10 feet away from her at one point on Saturday. I did pick a favorite though -
Erica Blasberg. I picked her because I thought she had the cutest outfits... and I thought she did pretty well during the time I watched her.
More fun players to watch were
Paula Creamer and
Morgan Pressel. They are both young golfers, which I think is why it was so entertaining. I can't imagine being pro at my age (or younger) and winning millions simply by playing a pro sport. Paula went pro right after high school! She is known as the
pink panther since she has pink everything - shoes, clubs, clothes and even golf balls.
Morgan just turned
19! She has a really interesting
blog on the Callaway website. Callaway is one of her corporate sponsors. It's really interesting from a blogger's point of view. Check it out and let me know what you think of it.
Oh... I'm planning to take a little vacation during the week I have off soon. I was going to hike
Mount Marcy, the highest peak in the Adirondacks; it's going to take about 3 days total for the whole trip. Does anyone out there have any other
suggestions for quick/fun/cheap trips?? Please please please let me know! Just leave them as comments and I'll get them.
Also, if anyone has some
golf tips they could throw my way, that would be great. I think I'm going to give it a whirl!
