Philanthropy Down the Quarter Mile

Sabrina Soares-Kern on Tuesday, 28 September 2010. Posted in Clubs, Student Life

While walking down the quarter mile today I saw three separate Greek organizations posted up with the common goal of raising money for great causes!

The first table I stopped at was the Pi Kappa Phi Pedal for Push event. The brothers will be pedaling non stop, 24 hours a day, for 100 hours with the purpose of raising awareness and funds for their national philanthropy, Push America.

Here’s a glimpse of what they’re up to!

My next stop was directly across from the Pi Kappa Phi brothers on the steps of the Eastman Kodak arch. The sisters of Delta Phi Epsilon were tabling sign-ups for their Twist-A-Thon event in support of The National Associate of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders.

Check out the twisters in action!

My third and final stop on the quarter mile... before Calc A of course... was at the Tau Kappa Epsilon table where the brothers were “tenting” out to raise money for their philanthropy event Tent Out for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Here’s a peak of two brothers at their table!

All in all many groups on campus are taking advantage of the nice weather to kick off their charity events and raise awareness. Make sure to stop by and talk to them about what they’re up to!!
