RIT Graphic Design Student Receives ADDY Award
Just checked out the latest from the University News – announcing Andrea Hickey’s latest ADDY award for her “Crime Scene Fashion” fashion ad layout series (see below, an example of on of the layouts taken from University News http://www.rit.edu/news/story.php?id=48431 )
My amazement of the diversity on the RIT campus never stops growing. I was raised on order of numbers – the "art" of using math and science to solve problems. I enjoy logic, and I get a thrill out of my calculus homework because everything has an answer… it is just a matter of getting to it. Very often I find myself working on my homework among a crew of art students finalizing photos or creating graphic designs and webpages – all topics that have no final answer, everything is dependant on taste and the viewers perspective. I would be lying if I did not admit to my insane jealousy of their ability to create and bravery in showing it to the world, for better or for worse. I am so inspired that I am now in the market for a design class this fall (any suggestions?).
