RIT on Foursquare
Orientation week is coming sooner than we think! During this week there are all sorts of things going on around campus for new students to get you acclimated to life here at RIT.
This year we have a new contest going on for incoming students.. RIT on foursquare!
For those who might not know what foursquare is, you have the next week or so to read up and get on board! Directly from Foursquare, "It's a social networking site that's usually used on mobile devices to let your friends know where you are and figuring out where they are. It's also for collecting points, prize "badges" and, eventually, tips and special offers while going about your everyday business."
From August 31st to September 4th you can explore throughout campus & "check in" around campus to unlock the campus explorer badge. Once you recieve this badge, you come visit us at the social media table during the Club/Organization fair in the Gordon Field house (GOR) on Sunday September 4th.
Three winners will then be chosen to eat dinner with RIT President Dr Bill Destler on September 8th.
With such a large campus, there already over 100 diferent places to check in but we'll have lists posted around with some of the key places to hit! It'll be a great way to get to know the campus a little bit more before school starts-- and to read the tips from upperclassman who have already checked in and left some!
Do you already have foursquare or will you be signing up for the first time for orientation?
