The Adventures of Dotes
So this past week has been a amusing week to say the least. Class was fun and hard, very hard, but as usual I loved every minutes of it. I actually never though that I would be saying this, but English was really informative and I totally enjoyed it. We are reading “The Unbearable Lightness of Being” a very good book, so many themes. I definitely recommend it.
My weekend. Technically the weekend has just started but mine has been going on for 2 days. As I mentioned in an earlier post I do not have class Friday. Thursday at around 11pm or so, 7 people on my floor decide playing halo until 3am would be a good idea, so they asked me to come, of course I did, what self appreciating geek wouldn’t? so we arrive at a different dorm a bit past 11 (it has a bigger lounge and we were going to be playing there). We bought Xbox’s, TV’s, LCD’s and everything you need. As the night went on more and more people wanted to play, so they just got on another Xbox to play. The beauty of a Microsoft products, easy plug and play into a network. We ended having over 17 people playing all over the floor. You could hear was yelling and screaming throughout the halls, about deaths or wicked sick kills. Friday night, it repeated except starting at 8pm. This time we brought sound systems also (I know what you are thinking, what the hell? Ohhhhh yea, it was nice). After having some network troubles, I decided to step in (I am a Sys. Admin in training) and fixed the issue. FYI, on a switch you can connect the Xbox’s to it and then on one of the switch ports (opposed to the internet port), connect to your larger infrastructure, its pretty much an uplink feature, so it joined the networks. We then continued to play. It was great.
The “Dotes Kick Ass Song” for the week. The song is entitled “Disasterpiece” by Sugar Ray. It is a great song from a great album. Its just what I need when I feel like a nice strong song.
