After a week of being home, I am more than ready to be back at school. I still am not unpacked at all, but I'm getting closer to starting. Tomorrow a friend from school is coming, and I really should finish unpacking before she gets here.
My high school electronic teacher requested that when I graduated from high school I apply to be a substitute teacher in my school district. He wanted to leave his class to me when he isn't there and I'm on break. This Friday I am going to be a substitute for him. I was also called yesterday to sub for him, but due to a miscommunication, he was there too. So I got paid $85 for hanging out with my favorite teacher from high school. Not a bad deal at all. To anyone graduating this year, or anyone in college, I would recommend looking into this, because it is really cool. If you had a favorite teacher you can specifically say you only want to sub for them. Plus, the $85 per day isn't a bad way to start off the summer either....
This weekend is Strolling of the Heifers. Every June, the town of Brattleboro, VT comes together to celebrate and recognize its farming and dairy industry. We have a big festival complete with parade, featuring real cows and pooper-scoopers. I'm really excited to go since I haven't been in 2 years. Two school friends are coming for it, so I am also really excited for them to come.
Although school is hectic and full of responsibilities, summer means leaving friends. I'm glad I have summer, but can't wait to go back to RIT.
