So tonight in OS Scripting I saw one of the funniest slides ever and thought to my self “Self, I must post about this on my Blog” part of the slide was”
STRING="I have a boo on my knee."
echo $STRING | sed -e 's/boo/& &/'
Now for those that don’t know UNIX it means you have a string that contains “I have a boo on my knee” then the next line wants you do something. Essentially it make turn that string into” I have a boo boo on my knee” the entire class started laughing because of the utter hysterical’ness of that example, it showed a example but was so funny. The professor then stated something along the lines of “There must have been a few brew-skies floating around when they wrote that….or something a lot strong” very funny. I illustrate this because of the humor that we get here at RIT, it is defiantly a more techie joke but very funny and everyone got it; most likely no one else would figure out what it did and the humor in that, but we all did.
Damn do I love RIT.
