After several months of searching, filling out applications, writing cover letters, updating my resume, and going through multiple stages of interviews, I have finally come to the conclusion of my full-time job search.
I will begin my new job as a Packaging Scientist at Mars Chocolate North America on July 29th. In this role I will be working on the cost savings team, based out of the corporate office in Hackettstown, NJ.
The search process I have gone through has been quite exhausting, with plenty of ups and downs. I began in February at RIT’s Packaging Science Career Fair and continued searching following a few interviews.
My search process then included three on-site job interviews, including at Mars Chocolate, over a span of about 6 weeks. During that time I went on 8 flights, a road trip back to home in Nashville, and several other miles and hours of driving in rental cars for my interviews. Talk about frequent flyer miles!
Once I received the offer, I was so excited not only for the opportunity, but also that I knew my search would be coming to an end, as this opportunity is pretty much my dream entry-level job coming out of college.
Having done co-ops at two different food industry companies in consumer packaged goods, I knew that I likely wanted to stay in foods to begin my career, and I couldn’t be happier for what is to come! As I graduate and begin this next step, my blogging and Student Ambassador career will be coming to an end, but be sure to follow me on twitter on my new handle, @jacobmsachs to stay updated with my next steps in life!
