It appears that hospitality classes at RIT will continue to grow. Constellation Brands, an international wine producer, based right here in Rochester NY, donated one of their wineries to RIT last week. Widmer Winery, founded in 1882, was closed down and donated to RIT. RIT plans to use the winery to integrate such fields as sustainability and the School of Hospitality and Service Management. As a environmentally sustainable management student, I would be very interested to take classes that combine these fields, but unfortunately the winery will not be fully integrated until 2011 (but good news for students looking to enter next year!) RIT has already established relationships with Constellation Brands at their Wine and Culinary Center in Canandaigua, NY. See the full story here.
