One of the best things about college is the variety of classes offered to students. This semester I'm taking a class titled Wines of the World, which allows students to learn all about wine, the industry, and sample various wines. I'm also taking Wine and Food Pairing, which teaches about foods to pair with different wines.
Now while you parents may be thinking these are just classes to drink alcohol, there's a lot more to it! Learning about the processes, varying kinds, and the industry as helped me realize just how vast and intense the wine industry is! It's also really cool to know about different wines, to not only impress people, but to know what to order at resturants. You also don't get enough wine in a class to get you drunk, so don't worry parents ;)
In college, take advantage that everything the school has to offer! I know I would've never had an opportunity like this again to take a class to learn all about wine. One thing to also consider about a college as you look at them, is to see all the different classes that school has to offer, fun or more academic focused! You never know what cool classes a school has!
