As much as I hate to count the days, we're about halfway through our winter break. I'm definitely enjoying the time off both for more family time and more sleep!
Unlike years previous, we have three weeks off due to when New Year's fell. Thanksgiving break is nice on the quarter system in that it falls directly after finals week so we're actually free of work! Coming back to school for the 3 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas proved to be rather stressful this year - LOTS of work and a packed schedule. I suppose that last part is partially my fault, but I only have 2 quarters left at RIT so I'm trying to cram it all in there.
My first week of break was spent driving south on a road trip with my boyfriend to North Carolina & Georgia. Nice change of pace from school & yet I was able to "research" for my design project for independent study. The "researching" mostly involved taking pictures of mountains & interstate signage.. I love being a design major.
I spent the past few days in New Jersey and I'm finally back in Maryland for a little home time before heading back up to Rochester at the end of next week. Unfortunately, unlike Thanksgiving break, there is an abundance of work to be done. The nice thing is that the deadlines are all 2 weeks away & I can work on things by the fireplace while my mom makes dinner & lots of christmas cookies (taking full advantage of someone else doing the cooking over break, thanks mom!).
