Although we strongly encourage a campus visit, we understand that it isn't always possible to make the trip to Rochester. Our admissions staff travels to various parts of the country to interview students in their hometowns and to give information sessions about RIT. You can also meet an admissions representative at area college fairs and selected high schools and community colleges.

Events for Prospective Students:

College Fair, School Visit and Portfolio Day Events
RIT representatives and alumni representatives will be present at hundreds of events in September, October, November and early December.  Event information will be available beginning in mid-August.

Information Sessions and Receptions
Prospective students, both freshmen and transfers, and their families are invited to attend an Information Session and Reception at a hotel in their area.  The RIT Admissions staff covers topics such as admission requirements, application process, student life, academic programs, and cost, scholarships and financial aid. Our Spring 2012 events have concluded. Registration for Fall 2012 events will be available in August 2012.

Hometown Interviews

RIT is happy to offer informational interviews for prospective students who are seniors in high school and prospective transfer students in select cities across the country.  Hometown Interviews are offered during the fall months only.  The Fall 2012 Hometown Interview schedule will be posted in late August.  A personal interview is not required to be considered for admission to the university.
